Ceramic Coating · Nairobi

A deeper gloss that lasts for years.

A liquid ceramic layer that bonds to your paint for gloss, water-beading and far easier cleaning — professionally applied in our Karen studio, with tiers from daily driver to flagship graphene.

Quick summary

Ceramic coating is a semi-permanent liquid layer that chemically bonds to your paint. It adds deep gloss, makes water and dirt slide off, and resists chemical staining and light swirls. At Glossmith we offer multiple tiers up to graphene-infused ceramic, with 2–5 year durability. Typical turnaround is 1–2 days including prep.

What it is

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer — often silica (SiO2) or graphene-based — that cures into a hard, transparent layer bonded to your clear coat. Unlike a wax that sits on top and washes away in weeks, a coating becomes part of the surface and lasts years.

It creates a slick, hydrophobic finish: water beads and rolls off carrying dirt with it, so the car stays cleaner longer and washes far more easily. It also adds noticeable depth and gloss to the paint.

The benefits

Limitations — what it won't do

Ceramic coating is chemical protection — it bonds to the paint surface, it doesn't shield against impact. It won't stop stone chips or deep scratches; for that you need paint protection film. It also needs correct prep: the coating locks in whatever is under it, so paint must be corrected and decontaminated first. And it isn't maintenance-free — it performs best with proper washing and the occasional top-up.

Options

Entry · 1–2 yr protection Premium · 3–4 yr, more gloss Graphene · flagship, 5 yr Wheels & glass · add-ons

Tiers scale with durability, gloss and layer count. Graphene coatings add the highest heat resistance and slickness.

Our process

  1. Inspection & quote. We assess the paint and agree the right coating tier for how you use the car.
  2. Deep decontamination. Wash, clay and iron-removal strip everything off the paint so the coating bonds cleanly.
  3. Paint correction. Swirls and defects are machine-polished out — the coating will lock in this finish.
  4. Coating application. The ceramic is applied by hand in a controlled environment, panel by panel, and levelled.
  5. Curing & inspection. The coating cures before handover, with aftercare guidance for the first week.

Maintenance & aftercare

For the first week, keep the car dry and unwashed while the coating fully cures. After that, maintenance is easy: wash with pH-neutral shampoo, avoid automatic brush washes, and dry with a soft towel. A periodic ceramic booster spray refreshes the hydrophobics. Done right, the coating keeps performing for its full rated life.

What affects your price

Estimated turnaround: 1–2 days including prep and correction. Final pricing depends on vehicle condition and is confirmed before work begins.
