Headlight Restoration · Nairobi

Clear headlights. Safer nights.

Foggy, yellowed headlights cut your night vision and age the whole car. We restore the lenses to clarity and seal them — so you see better and the car looks years younger.

Quick summary

Headlight restoration removes the yellowed, oxidised outer layer of cloudy headlight lenses and reseals them for lasting clarity. It improves night-time visibility and safety, and instantly makes a car look newer. It is a quick, high-value service — typically an hour or two.

What it is

Modern headlights are polycarbonate, which yellows and clouds over time as the factory UV coating breaks down under sun exposure. That haze scatters your headlight beam, reducing how far and how well you see at night.

Restoration sands back the damaged outer layer through progressive grades, polishes the lens back to clarity, and applies a fresh protective sealant so the clarity lasts rather than returning in weeks.

The benefits

Limitations — what it won't do

Restoration works on surface oxidation of the lens. If a headlight is cracked, internally fogged (moisture inside the unit) or the reflector is damaged, restoration can't fix that — replacement is the answer, and we'll say so at inspection. Without a proper sealant, cheap restoration re-yellows fast, which is why we always reseal.

Options

Both headlights · standard + Sealant · lasting clarity Same-day · quick turnaround + Tail lights · on request

Most restorations cover both headlights with a protective sealant; tail lights and fog lights can be added.

Our process

  1. Assessment. We confirm the haze is surface oxidation and restoration is the right fix.
  2. Masking. Surrounding paint is masked to protect it during sanding.
  3. Progressive sanding. The oxidised layer is wet-sanded back through graded grits.
  4. Polishing. The lens is machine-polished back to full clarity.
  5. Sealing. A protective UV sealant is applied so the clarity lasts.

Maintenance & aftercare

Keep the sealed lenses clean and avoid harsh abrasive cleaners, which strip the protective layer. Parking in shade when possible slows future UV damage. With a quality sealant, clarity lasts many months to years; a re-seal down the line keeps them clear long-term.

What affects your price

Estimated turnaround: one to two hours for most vehicles. Final pricing depends on lens condition and is confirmed before work begins.

Frequently asked questions

Why do headlights go foggy?

The polycarbonate lens yellows as its factory UV coating breaks down under sun exposure, scattering the beam.

How long does restoration last?

With a proper sealant, many months to a few years. Without sealing, haze returns quickly.

Is it better to restore or replace?

If the lens is only surface-oxidised, restoration is far cheaper and effective. Cracked or internally fogged units need replacing.

Does it improve night driving?

Yes — clearing the haze restores the headlight output and range noticeably.
